UFC on FX 7 Betting Odds

UFC on FX 7 is this Saturday and will be hosted at the Ibirapuera Arena in Sao Paolo, Brazil. Brazilian fighters dominate the card this weekend, as there is a Brazilian in each main card fight and many more in the prelims. The main card is actually intriguing and we’re going to get into our predictions for each of those fights after we show you where the best odds are this weekend.

UFC on FX 7 Odds & Predictions

  • Vitor Belfort -107 (Pinnacle) vs. Michael Bisping -103 (Pinnacle)

Vitor Belfort (21-10) and Michael Bisping (23-4) are two of the best middleweights that can’t get over that hump. Belfort has had a chance to fight Jon Jones and Anderson Silva, but he lost both fights. Bisping recently lost a tough decision to Sonnen, but he has bounced back with a close victory over the hard-hitting American Brian Stann. This fight is going to have some fireworks.

Belfort has a ton of power in his strikes, but he only lands 1.35 per minute on average in the cage, which is a much slower pace than Bisping who averages 4.57 SLpM. Bisping has better defense as well and he’ll need it. He has to keep his chin tucked because one big shot from Belfort will end this fight. I like Bisping and his high-tempo fighting style and I think he’ll win this fight by decision.

  • Daniel Sarafian -165 (BetDSI) vs. C.B. Dollaway +160 (BetOnline)

Daniel Sarafian (7-2) is making his debut in the UFC. Sarafian has 6 wins by submission, but the talent level he has fought isn’t up to the level of the UFC middleweight division. I don’t like C.B. Dollaway (12-4), but he has great wrestling in the cage.

That can become tiresome for a fighter to deal with, especially one who is 30 like Sarafian. Dollaway has been submitted twice, but I think he wins by decision as long as he’s careful when he’s on the ground with Sarafian because he can be sneaky with submissions.

  • Gabriel Gonzaga -110 (Pinnacle) vs. Ben Rothwell +100 (Pinnacle)

Gabriel Gonzaga (13-6) won at UFC 142 by submission in his last fight against Ednaldo Oliveira. Gonzaga doesn’t fight much, but he is usually tough to beat when he’s healthy. Ben Rothwell (32-8) hasn’t been spectacular in the UFC, but he does hit very powerfully.

That is a concern for anyone. Gonzaga averages over 3 takedowns per fight and I think he’s too technical for Rothwell to handle. I’m betting on Gonzaga and he’s my favourite bet based on the odds. Rothwell struggles once he moves up in competition.

  • Khabib Nurmagomedov -175 (5Dimes) vs. Thiago Tavares +160 (Bovada)

Khabib Nurmagomedov (18-0) is an impressive Russian fighter that is already 2-0 in the UFC. Fighting Thiago Tavares (17-4-1) will be Nurmagomedov’s toughest competition yet and I’m interested to see how he fares. This fight will stay standing up I think.

The Russian doesn’t like to use takedowns much and he’s great at defending them. Tavares is a UFC veteran, but I’m betting on the younger Russian to win on my parlays. If Nurmagomedov wins this fight against Tavares he’ll start getting a lot more respect.
