UFC on Fox 15
The UFC is back on FOX and that’s great news, as these FOX cards are always strong in name recognition. The event will be hosted at the Prudential Center in Newark. Two of my favorite fighters will be fighting each other too, as Swanson fights Holloway.

- Bet Luke Rockhold –155 (5 Dimes) vs. Lyoto Machida
I believe Lyoto Machida (22-5) is going to struggle against Luke Rockhold (13-2). Since joining Strikeforce in 2008 – Rockhold is 12-1, including 3-1 in the UFC. Rockhold lost his UFC debut to Belfort. Machida is fresh off a TKO win against Dollaway to end 2014.
Rockhold is the bigger fighter – he’ll have a 3’’ reach advantage and he’s 2’’ taller. Machida won’t be able to land his signature kicks either against the southpaw. Rockhold should know the game plan to beat Machida and that’s to push the pace constantly.
- Bet Max Holloway +145 (Bet365) vs. Cub Swanson
Cub Swanson (21-6) lost to Frankie Edgar by submission to end 2014, but he had won six fights in a row prior to the loss. Swanson has developed into a power striker (8 TKO/KO Wins). Max Holloway (12-3) has won five in a row – including four by stoppage.
On a sheet strength level – Swanson has more power. However, Holloway excels when he can dictate the pace and put his opponent up into the cage. Holloway is more active in the stand-up and if he can avoid the one-hit KO power of Swanson – I like his chances.
- Bet Paige VanZant –125 (5 Dimes) vs. Felice Herrig
I noticed a lot of cappers are split on this strawweight bout between Paige VanZant (4-1) and Felice Herrig (10-5). Herrig has more experience, but VanZant is a promising prospect at just 21 years of age. Both fighters won and looked good in their UFC debuts.
VanZant looked great in her debut, plus she’s training with Team Alpha Male, so you know she’ll be improved. Herrig was taken down twice in her debut and the goal for VanZant should be to take this fight down to the mat where she can grind out a win.
- Bet Ovince St. Preux +110 (Pinnacle) vs. Patrick Cummins
Patrick Cummins (7-1) has looked good since losing to Cormier, as he has picked up wins over Narvaez, Kingsbury and Carlos Jr in 2014. Ovince St. Preux (17-6) went 3-1 in 2014 and looked great except for when he lost by decision to Bader.
If Cummins can execute some TD’s – St. Preux will be in trouble. However, St. Preux has incredible power and if he connects he’ll end the fight. St. Preux has more experience against top talent and I’m surprised he has opened up as an underdog to win.
UFC on FOX 15 Parlay
- Rockhold ML + Souza by Sub + Holloway ML (+418 Odds) at 5Dimes
I’ve explained two of these picks already. I’m also adding Souza by submission (-260). He’s a monster favorite to beat Camozzi – a feat he has already accomplished not too long ago. Souza is a finisher and Camozzi shouldn’t pose any threat to him.
