UFC Fight Night 67 Best Bets – Will Sykes

Scott is not around this week so I’ll be stepping in with my predictions for UFC Fight Night 67. The last Brazil card had something like 9 underdog wins, don’t think we will see the same with this one. So let’s get going with the picks.

The undercard has a few fighters I don’t know to well so I will be staying away from a lot of that, picked a couple I do like though. Unlike Scott I do all my bets at 5 Dimes, I just like them the best, have the best options and live in-between rounds betting. Once you get used to the layout there hard to beat. I use Bet365 for live betting when I feel like doing that.

• Mirsad Bektic (-470 / 1.21) vs. Lucas Martins ( +375 / 4.75)

Bektic is a good prospect and a huge favourite here, I don’t like betting unless I get better than evens and honestly don’t like going for the dog Martins here even though he’s good I just don’t think he stops or outpoints Bektic. Looking at the odds I like Bektic to win by decision @ +115 / 2.15.

• Jussier Formiga (-155 / 1.64) vs. Wilson Reis (+135 / 2.35)

This one is some good match making, very similar in every way, both like to grapple, don’t KO people so really were looking at this to go to decision. The odds are not great and remember I only like evens or better so I think the bet is a parlay: over 2.5 rounds @ -265 / 1.37 plus over 2.5 rounds in the Bektic fight @ -145 / 1.69.

• Rony Jason (-190 / 1.52) vs. Damon Jackson (+165 / 2.6)

This is another fight that should be good. Both of these guys like to finish fights, Rony Jason has been inconsistent as of late but just don’t know what this guy will do at any time in a fight, he can finish everywhere, Jackson is a submission specialist but so is Rony. I think fighting at home and the kind of emotional fighter he is, he gets the stoppage here, I think TKO. If he loses the dude will probably kill someone. So my bet is Rony Mariano Bezerra by TKO @ +300 / 4.0.

That’s the prelims done with and honestly thing that’s where we are going to see most of the finishes. Check out 5 Dimes tomorrow evening, they sometimes do props like over under 5 submissions, 6 decisions or more. I think this main card has at-least 4 fights that go the distance so ill be looking for that decisions bet if its better than evens.

I like all 3 ** to grind out decision wins. Id look for straight up decision odds, over 2.5 rounds odds and fight to go the distance odds. Take the better than evens ones and add them to parlays. I would leave the Ryan Jimmo fight out of parlays, that guy can grind a decision but he is very inconsistent, don’t let the fuker bust your parlays.

• Nik Lentz (+230 / 3.3) vs. Charles Oliveira (-270 / 1.37)

This is a good fight for the co main event Mik Lentz will always bring it, he is a hugely experienced fighter that does not lose many fights, he is as well rounded as they come but not a specialist in anything, now Charles Oliveira is himself very experienced despite been very young, you seen him at 155lbs and the guys just hit a little to hard for him, since moving to 145lbs he has looked very good. A great submission fighter with 3 good wins behind him in the past 12 months and I expect him to get another win here to keep that momentum going. Im gonna bet Oliveira by submission @ +150 / 2.5 *Just keep an eye on the weighins tonight, if he has trouble that will change my mind.

• Thiago Alves (+230 / 3.3) vs. Carlos Condit (-270 / 1.37)

Two fan favourites here trying to get back into the wide open welterweight top spots. I like both of these fighters and the way they fight. Alves is very technical and Condit is much the same although has a ground game to go with it, and is a lot taller. Condit has not fought since that bad knee injury against Woodley and Alves is coming off 2 good wins. We don’t know what that injury done to Condit, will he be the same? Will he try take Alves down at the first chance to stop his heavy leg kicks? It really could go either way this one. Condit by submission is tempting @ +421 / 5.2 – but I think we cant count Alves out here, I just have a feeling he is going to target that knee, bearing in mind how dangerous Condit is I think the best bet on this fight is Thaigo Alves +5.5 points handicap @ +135 / 2.35.

Points handicap bets are good because your guy can lose and you still win if he gets a round or two. 5 round fight here all we need is Alves to get a couple of good rounds in ie: stay on his feet.
