  • Chad Mendes by decision +125 (5Dimes) vs. Ricardo Lamas

Chad Mendes (16-2) just lost to Aldo for the second time in his career, but he has gone 5-0 in between those fights. Lamas (15-3) lost to Aldo last year too, but he’s 6-1 in the UFC. This is going to be a great fight, but here’s why I expect Mendes to win by decision.

Mendes has excellent wrestling and he averages 4.18 TD’s every 15 minutes and has 54% TD accuracy. Lamas has 48% TDD and I’m sure Mendes will attack for the TD early and often. Lamas isn’t likely to be finished though, so take Mendes by decision.

  • Liz Carmouche –107 (SportBet) vs. Lauren Murphy

Lauren Murphy (8-1) lost her UFC debut against McMann by split decision. She has decent striking, but she didn’t attempt a single TD. Liz Carmouche (9-5) has similar striking stats on paper, plus she has fought much tougher competition in her career.

Carmouche is 1-3 in the UFC, but the losses came against Tate, Davis and Rousey. She had no problem knocking out Andrade and I believe she’ll have no problem beating Murphy. Carmouche would be smart to work in a few more TD attempts than usual.

  • Robbie Peralta +215 (Sportsbook) vs. Clay Guida

My underdog best bet is Robbie Peralta (18-5-0-1) to beat Clay Guida (31-15). Dating back to 2011, Guida is 2-4 in his last 6 fights with decision wins over Hioki and Kawajiri. Peralta is 4-2-0-1 in the UFC with a loss to Tavares last time out by submission.

Peralta has clean striking and if he can stay on his feet he’ll win. He averages 4.13 SLpM and his accuracy is 46%, while Guida lands 2.17 strikes per minute and his accuracy is just 31%. Peralta has solid TDD (70%) too and should pick up a win over the veteran.

  • Dustin Poirier –175 (5Dimes) vs. Carlos Diego Ferreira

Carlos Ferreira (11-1) just lost the first fight of his career against Dariush by decision. Prior to that he beat Smith and Nijem – both by stoppage. Poirier just lost to McGregor last year by TKO in R1, but prior to that he had won three in a row (Two wins by TKO/KO).

Neither fighter looks for many takedowns and I expect this fight to be won with striking. Poirier averages 4.47 SLpM and Ferreira averages 2.35 SLpM. Poirier is much more accurate too (49% vs. 32%). If Poirier is focused he’ll bounce back and win.

  • Mendes + Chiesa + Pena Parlay +104 (Pinnacle)

I’m not getting greedy on my main parlay. I’ve put more than usual down on this parlay. Michael Chiesa fights Mitch Clarke and Julianna Pena fights Milana Dudieva on the main card. Both are big favorites and should have no problem winning.
