UFC Fight Night 33 Predictions

The UFC Fight Night 33 event is going to be hosted in Brisbane, Australia. The fights are tomorrow night and fans can watch them for free on Fox Sports 1/2. The main card features six fights including another woman’s bout to kick-off the main card tomorrow night.

UFC Fight Night 33 Betting Picks

I know a lot of people are betting on Hunt as the dog in this spot, but I’m not sold. Silva has a massive head, which makes it easier to hit him. Silva has been knocked out four times and his chin is questionable, but his ground game is so much better than Hunt.

If Silva is smart he’ll close the distance and look for an early takedown, so that he can utilize his jiu-jitsu. I think Hunt is also going to have a hard time landing his shots because he has a 8’’ reach disadvantage that he has to deal with. It’ll be close, but I’m on Silva.

  • Bet James Te Huna –115 (BetDSI) vs. Mauricio Rua

Te Huna has had some problems getting submitted, but that won’t likely be a problem in this fight. Everyone seems to be on Rua to win this fight, but Rua hasn’t looked good lately. He has lost his last two fights and three of his last four since November 2011.

Rua has solid striking with a nice jab, but Te Huna has never been knocked out yet. Te Huna would be smart to use his takedowns to get Rua on the mat where he can start to work in some ground and pound. Rua has bad takedown defense and I think Te Huna wins.

This should be another close and exciting fight, but I like the underdog to come through with the win. Soa Palelei is a lot bigger than Pat Barry and he has a considerable edge on the ground. Palelei completes 88% of his takedowns and is tough on the ground.

Barry has great takedown defense (80%), but I think the height and reach advantage for Palelei will be too much to overcome. Barry has great kickboxing and is very powerful, but he has to be able to get inside on the Australian. I’m taking a shot on the dog here.

  • Bet Bethe Correia +185 (SportBet) vs. Julie Kedzie

This bet is more going off what I’ve researched, as I haven’t seen much video of Bethe Correia. She’ll be making her UFC debut and she’s up against veteran Julie Kedzie. Kedzie has 28 career fights under her belt, but she has lost three straight and looks gassed.

  • Bet Silva / Palelei Parlay +298 (Pinnacle)

I’ve also bet on Silva and Palelei on a parlay already and will most likely add more tomorrow night. I think these two are the best bets on the entire card. I’m also thinking about parlaying my four picks above, but with numerous close fights it’ll be hard to go 4/4.
