UFC Fight Night 29 Betting Predictions
The UFC will be back in Brazil this Wednesday for UFC Fight Night 29, which everyone can watch live on FOX 1. There are ten fights scheduled for the event at the Jose Correa Arena in Barueri. The event will be headlined by the Maia vs. Shields main event.
It looks like the favourites should do well at UFC Fights Night 29. I think the best chance at an underdog winning on the main card is Assuncao against Dillashaw, but it’s unlikely I’ll be betting him SU. Dillashaw has improved too much to bet against him in this spot.
UFC Fight Night 29 Betting Predictions
- Bet Fabio Maldonado –140 (Sportsbook) vs. Joey Beltran
Fabio Maldonado (19-6) is just 2-3 in the UFC, but he won in his last fight against Roger Hollett. Joey Beltran (14-8-1) is just 1-3-1 in his L5 UFC fights. He beat Igor Pokrajac in his last fight, but it was overturned because Beltran tested positive for PED’s.
These two guys are fighting for their promotional life and both will come out swinging for the fences. Both fighters have great chins, so I think it’s unlikely either fighter will finish the fight. Maldonado is more technical than Beltran and he’s also fighting in Brazil.
- Bet Erick Silva ITD –125 (5Dimes) vs. Dong Hyun Kim
Erick Silva (15-3-1) will have a chance to put on a show in front of his Brazilian fans against Dong Hyun Kim (17-2-1-1). Kim has been knocked out in his two career losses, but he has never been submitted. I think that could change this week against Silva.
Silva is just 2-3 in the UFC, but he has had some tough fights. He’s 2-1 in his L3 with two submission victories. Kim has never been submitted because he stays out of trouble for the most part, but Silva is great on the ground and I think he’ll win ITD.
- Bet Dillashaw vs. Assuncao Goes the Distance –120 (5Dimes)
T.J. Dillashaw (8-1) and Raphael Assuncao (20-4) should be a contender for FOTN in my opinion. Assuncao is on a 4-fight win streak in the UFC after losing his debut back in 2011. Dillashaw has improved a lot at Team Alpha Male and has won his L4 fights as well.
Dillashaw has won 6 fights by stoppage while Assuncao has won 13 fights by stoppage, but I think this fight will end up going to the judges’ scorecards. Dillashaw has great wrestling and should end up winning by decision although it’ll be a close fight.
- Bet Maia / Silva / Silva / Pierce +234 (Pinnacle)
I’m taking four of the favorites on the main card as my main parlay this week. Demain Maia (18-4) fights Jake Shields (28-6-1) in the main event and Maia should come away with the victory. Shields is a great wrestler, but Maia has proven he can beat wrestlers.
I already mentioned why I like Erick Silva to win above. Thiago Silva is on a rough slide, but he won his last fight and can build upon that with a win over Matt Hamill. Mike Pierce is a power striker and Palhares has struggled against fighters with power.
