UFC 167 Predictions

The UFC is back on pay-per-view on Saturday night and the action will be coming to us live from Las Vegas. There is a pair of great Canadian fighters on the main card this weekend including Georges St. Pierre who fights Johny Hendricks in the main event.

UFC 167 Betting Predictions

  • Bet Woodley vs. Koscheck Goes the Distance –150 (5Dimes)

Tyron Woodley (11-2) is a tough fighter who has only been stopped once in his career, but he likes to grind out fights by wrestling his opponents on the cage or mat. Josh Koscheck (17-7) has lost his last two fights, but one was a split decision against Hendricks.

Koscheck still has enough in the tank to wrestle with Woodley and win this fight in my opinion, but I won’t be betting on him. I think it’s a safer bet to bet on this fight going the distance. Both fighters will look to wrestler each other and neither really have KO power.

  • Bet Donald Cerrone –110 (Pinnacle) vs. Evan Dunham

Donald Cerrone (20-6) just needs to find his confidence again because he’s a great fighter that’s tough as nails. Evan Dunham (14-4) is 3-4 in his L7 fights and his wins haven’t been against that tough of fighters. Expect Dunham to go to war, but Cerrone to win.

Cerrone is more accurate with his striking and both fighters absorb a lot of strikes in the cage. Dunham lands more shots, but he also leaves himself open for a lot as well. I like this fight to go to decision (-195), but at those odds I’d rather take a shot on Cerrone.

  • Bet Georges St. Pierre by Decision –135 (5Dimes) vs. Johny Hendricks

I like Johny Hendricks (15-1) and it wouldn’t surprise me that much if he beats Georges St. Pierre (24-2). Hendricks can knockout just about anyone in the cage if he connects, but the problem is that he’s overly aggressive in the cage and that won’t work against GSP.

St. Pierre has great boxing and a nice jab that he utilizes while circling the cage. He can also move in for the takedown when needed and it’s very difficult to stop them. St. Pierre has won his last six title defenses by 5-round decision and I like that to happen again.

  • Bet St. Pierre + Leites Parlay +108 (BetDSI)

My favorite bet on the card is St. Pierre and Leites on a parlay. I see quite a few people like Ed Herman to beat Thales Leites, but Ed struggles against submissions. Herman has been submitted six times and Leites will utilize his BJJ to earn his 14th career submission.

  • Bet St. Pierre + MacDonald + Perez +137 (BetDSI)

I also like two big favorites in Rory Macdonald and Erik Perez, so I’m adding those two with St. Pierre. If the Canadian losses his title this weekend my night will be terrible, but unless Hendricks connects with a solid shot I don’t see how else he’d win this fight.
