UFC 160 Predictions
UFC 160 is this Saturday in Las Vegas and the main card is stacked for viewers. There are going to be some intense fights, but if you’re looking to bet on UFC 160 there is much more value on the prelims and in the UFC 160 props betting market.
The main card has some big favourites and the only underdog I think has good chance to win is Grant and the main reason is due to the fact that Maynard has barely been in the cage the last couple years. However, it’s a tough fight and could go either way.
UFC 160 Best Bets
- Bet on Nurmagomedov to Win Inside Distance +110 (5Dimes)
Khabib Nurmagomedov (19-0) is 3-0 in the UFC with wins over Shalorus, Tibau and Tavares. Two of those fights were ended by stoppage by the Russian. Abel Trujillo (10-4) won his UFC debut over LeVesseur, but this is a big step up in competition.
Trujillo looked good in his debut, but Nurmagomedov is quicker in the cage with his striking and powerful. I don’t think he’ll be able to have much success taking down Trujillo, but his quick striking and power should prove to be too much for Trujillo.
In Abel’s four career losses 3 of them were by stoppage. Nurmagomedov has won by stoppage in 14 of his 19 career fights and I think he’ll get another. I was going to bet on him to win by TKO/KO at +300, but I feel much safer with inside the distance.
- Bet on Rick Story -139 (Pinnacle)
Mike Pyle (24-8-1) is one of the most experienced fighters in the UFC, but I’m betting against him despite the fact that he has KO’ed the L3 opponents that he has fought. Rick Story (15-6) should be able to dictate how this fight is fought in the cage.
Pyle has looked good in his L3 KO wins, but he was also in trouble in two of those fights. He landed a bit shot to win, but after watching Story take a lot of damage in the past I simply don’t think that Pyle will be able to KO Story.
Noone has knocked out Story in his career yet and his style of fighting should work against Pyle. He can push the tempo and try to maintain position of Pyle against the cage or on the mat. It may not be that exciting, but I think Story wins a decision.
- Bet on Teixeira to Win Inside Distance +110 (5Dimes)
I was going to bet Glover Teixeira (20-2) to win by TKO/KO at +400, but the more I think about it the more I think that he’ll finish this fight with a submission. James Te Huna (16-5) has never been knocked out, but he has been submitted four times.
18 of Teixeira’s fights have ended by stoppage while 17 of Te Huna’s fights have ended by stoppage. This fight is likely to end by stoppage and my money is on the big Brazilian. He’s more active and his takedown defence gives him a big edge.
- Bet on JDS/Hunt to Start 2nd Round / Grant / Cerrone +400 (5Dimes)
I’m taking a shot on Grant on my parlay for UFC 160. I think he’s going to have the fight of his life against Maynard who may not be quite “cage ready” due to lingering injuries and cage rust. I also like Cerrone should be able to dominate Noons.
My favourite leg of this parlay is the Dos Santos vs. Hunt fight to start the 2nd round. Hunt has pretty good defence in the cage and while JDS should win this fight I think it’s unlikely that he ends the fight in the 1st round against Hunt.
