UFC 157 Predictions
UFC 157 is at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California this weekend. This is the first time in UFC history that women will fight and this weekend at UFC 157 the main event is for the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship between Rousey and Carmouche.
UFC 157 Betting Predictions
Last weekend ended up going badly. I missed out on my 4-fighter parlay with Mills losing to Riddle. I also lost on my 3 underdogs, but my bet on the O3.5 rounds in the main event hit. That was my only win on the night and I need to do better this weekend.
- Bet on O1.5 in Rousey vs. Carmouche +305 (5Dimes)
Ronda Rousey (6-0) is a great fighter. She has won all of her fights by armbar in the 1st round. Liz Carmouche (8-2) is expected to get dominated, but at +305 odds I’m taking a chance on this fight lasting O1.5 rounds due to her past experience.
Carmouche has been submitted once in a championship fight with Strikeforce against Coenen, but that was in round 4. I think if she can keep this fight standing for the 1st round we’ll see this fight make it to the 2nd round and these odds seem a bit high.
- Bet on Dan Henderson +201 (Pinnacle)
Dan Henderson (29-8) is back in the cage after a lengthy layoff due to a knee injury and he’ll fight Lyoto Machida (18-3). I think if his knee is 100% he’ll be able to beat Machida and earn himself a title shot in the process on Saturday night.
Before his injury Henderson had won his L4 fights including wins against Fedor and Rua. Machida just KO’ed Bader, but he hasn’t been consistent in the cage the past several years. This fight should have plenty of striking and I like Henderson to take it.
- Bet on U2.5 in McGee vs. Neer +120 (5Dimes)
McGee and Neer have both been on a tough stretch with both fighters losing their L2 fights. 10 of McGee’s 17 fights have ended by stoppage and Neer hasn’t had a fight go to decision in his L11 fights. Neer last went 3 rounds against Tibau in 2009.
McGee has won half of his fights by submission and Neer has been submitted 5 times, so that could happen. We could also see this fight end by TKO/KO, as both fighters have a lot of power and love to leave everything out in the cage.
- Bet on Koscheck/Faber/McGee +106 (5Dimes)
My parlay this weekend has Koscheck, Faber and McGee. McGee looks like he should be able to handle Neer despite losing his L2 fights. I think McGee will be able to sink in a submission to end the fight if he tries to lock it in against Neer.
Koscheck and Faber are two favourites on the main card that should win. Koscheck I’m not too worried about against Lawler who is coming over from Strikeforce, but Faber scares me a bit against Menjivar who has gone 4-1 since joining the UFC in 2011.
