[Originally, Tim Kennedy was granted the title shot but an injury forced him to withdraw. Luke Rockhold is fresh off his impressive 5 round battle with former champion Jacare Souza, in which Rockhold put on display an impressive striking arsenal. Keith Jardine made his Strikeforce debut as an injury replacement, battling Gegard Mousasi to a draw. Following the fight Jardine made good on his promise to drop to 185. This matchup will serve as an excellent test for the young champion as Rockhold will be forced to deal with the unconventional style of the challenger.

In the co-main event the Ruthless one Robbie Lawler will tries to re-establish himself as a title contender in the Middleweight division.
