UFC on FX 6 Betting Odds

We have more UFC this week on Friday night and the event will be aired for free again from Gold Coast, Australia. This event is going to have the two finals from this past season of TUF (TUF: The Smashes). A couple of Aussies are fighting on the main card and they’ll have the fans behind them on Friday night, but will it be enough for both of them to pull off victories down under?

Best Fight Odds & Picks for UFC on FX 6

  • George Sotiropoulos -116 (Pinnacle) vs. Ross Pearson +110 (SportsInteraction)

George Sotiropoulos (14-4) is one of the Aussies on the main card and he’ll be fighting Ross Pearson (13-6). The two coaches on “TUF: The Smashes” don’t like each other much and this should be a great fight with conflicting styles in the cage. Pearson likes to bang in the cage and his striking will pose a problem for the Aussie, but Sotiropoulos will have the edge on the ground.

The jiu-jitsu black belt (Sotiropoulos) has 8 wins by submission and he can submit anyone. Pearson has lost twice by submission with the last one coming in 2010 against Cole Miller. Since then Pearson has been inconsistent and lost his last fight by TKO, but the Aussie has had problems as well and is on a 2-fight losing streak. I’m betting on Pearson, but he has to watch for subs.

  • Hector Lombard -200 (Bovada) vs. Rousimar Palhares +180 (Pinnacle)

The co-main event features two fighters with conflicting styles as well. Hector Lombard (31-3-1) is very powerful and he loves to stand-up and bang although in his UFC debut after coming over from Bellator he lost to Tim Boetsch.

Rousimar Palhares (14-4) is another world class submission expert that has won by sub 10X. The Brazilian is awesome on the ground and I’m betting him. Lombard didn’t look comfortable in his debut and it’ll be interesting to watch him on Friday.

  • Colin Fletcher -112 (Pinnacle) vs. Norman Parke +110 (BetOnline)

Colin Fletcher (8-1) is a well rounded fighter, but he doesn’t excel at much in the cage from what I’ve seen. Norman Parke (16-2) not only has an experience edge, but he’s a much better wrestler than Fletcher.

Fletcher is a lanky fighter and isn’t terrible on the ground, but I like the wrestler Parke. Both fighters love submissions, as Parke has 12 sub wins compared to Fletcher who has 7 sub wins. I’m worried that Parke’s 2 losses were by sub, but he’s my pick.

  • Robert Whittaker -155 (BetOnline) vs. Brad Scott +170 (Bovada)

Robert Whittaker (9-2) looked impressive on the TUF season and I bet on him to win the fight. Whittaker has some power and he proved that with 2 KO’s in the house. Brad Scott (8-1) needed the judges to win both of his fights on TUF: The Smashes.

These two welterweights will put on a good show, but at the end of the day the Aussie is better. He’s got heavy hands, but he can also handle the ground game. This fight will go the distance, but Whittaker should score enough points to win. [/tabs_panel] [tabs_panel title=”Video Picks”]
