UFC on Fox 6 Betting Odds

The UFC is on again this weekend with the UFC on Fox 6 event in Chicago at the United Center. The entire main card is free on Fox and will begin at 8PM ET. If you want to catch the prelim fights they’ll be on FX starting at 5PM ET on Saturday evening.

There are only four fights on the main card, but they all should be exciting. A featherweight fight will kick-off the main card action and then to end the night the main event will be against Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson for the UFC Flyweight title.

UFC on Fox 6 Picks Odds & Predictions

  • Demetrious Johnson -210 (Pinnacle) vs. John Dodson +190 (BetOnline)

The champion Demetrious Johnson (16-2-1) will put his title on the line against John Dodson (14-5). Dodson has a lot of power in his strikes and has won 6 fights by TKO/KO including 2 of his 3 career UFC fights. I definitely give the edge to Dodson in the stand-up.

Where Johnson has a considerable edge is in takedowns. Johnson averages 3.25 takedowns per 15 minutes, but he only completes a total of 53% and so far Dodson has proven capable of stuffing takedown attempts. I like the value on the underdog Dodson.

  • Glover Teixeira -295 (BetDSI) vs. Quinton Jackson +281 (Pinnacle)

Quinton Jackson (32-10) is at the tail end of his fighting career and he has shown that in the cage lately. Glover Teixeira (19-2) is 2-0 since joining the UFC and he can now get a quality victory on his resume against a big name opponent that people will remember.

Teixeira has been a beast in the stand-up game, as he’s constantly striking his opponents. He’s also excellent at takedowns. It isn’t going to be easy taking down Rampage, but Teixeira should land a couple. I’m betting Teixeira on my parlays this weekend.

  • Anthony Pettis -110 (Pinnacle) vs. Donald Cerrone +100 (Pinnacle)

Donald Cerrone (19-4) is another underdog I’m betting SU this weekend. He fights Anthony Pettis (15-2) who is a great fighter, but I think that since joining the UFC Cerrone has been better than Pettis. Cerrone is much more active on the attack than Pettis.

Both fighters have 1 loss in the UFC with Pettis losing to Guida and Cerrone losing to Diaz. Since losing to Diaz, Cerrone has beaten Stephens by decision and Guillard by KO. Cerrone has a slight reach advantage and should be able to bang his way to a victory.

  • Erik Koch -150 (5Dimes) vs. Ricardo Lamas +136 (Pinnacle)

I’m not sure how this will turn out, but I’m also on another underdog. I think Ricardo Lamas (12-2) isn’t getting enough respect after his 2 wins over Swanson by submission and Hioki by decision. Lamas is smart in the cage and very well-rounded.

Erik Koch (13-1) is a technical fighter that has won 7 of his fights by submission, but he also has hidden power, which was evident in his KO win over Assuncao in his UFC debut. This is going to be a great fight, but Lamas has proven more and looks good on paper.
