UFC on FOX 10 Predictions
The UFC will be back in Chicago this weekend for UFC on FOX 10 and the main card action will be aired on FOX. The prelim fights will be aired on Fox Sports 1. The entire fight card has some excellent fights and I can’t wait to watch the free action on Saturday night.
UFC on FOX 10 Best Bets
- Bet Stipe Miocic by TKO/KO –125 (5Dimes)
Stipe Miocic (10-1) has won 7 career fights by TKO/KO including two in the UFC. Gabriel Gonzaga (16-7) has lost six fights by TKO/KO in his career and whenever he comes up against a bit striker he struggles. I don’t expect this fight to even make it to the final round.
Gonzaga has great takedowns, but Miocic stops 67% of the takedown attempts on him. If he can stay standing he’ll be able to finish this fight easily. He has a 4’’ reach advantage over Gonzaga and is very active with his striking. Take Miocic to win this by knockout.
- Bet Darren Elkins +120 (Pinnacle)
Darren Elkins (17-3) just beat Hioki in his last fight after losing to Mendes. Jeremy Stephens (22-9) bounced back nicely in 2013 with two consecutive wins after losing three straight fights, but I feel that Elkins is the better fighter and more well-rounded in the cage.
Elkins has to take this fight to the ground and work on punishing Stephens from top control. Stephens has a lot of power and the last time that Elkins fought a power striker he was KO’ed (Mendes). I think he’ll have a game plan to win this fight and I’m on the dog.
- Bet Alex Caceres +200 (Carbon Sports)
This seems like a trap to me, but at these odds I can’t pass up the more experienced fighter. Alex Caceres (9-5-1) has looked better at bantamweight and his experience against UFC level fighters is a nice edge that he has over Sergio Pettis (10-0) in this fight.
Pettis won his UFC debut by decision, but didn’t look that impressive. Many people don’t think Caceres should even be in the UFC, but his striking is decent and he has proven that he can beat a lot of fighters. This will go 3-rounds, but I like Caceres to pull it out.
- Bet Henderson / Cerrone / Miocic Parlay +202 (SportBet)
On the main card I’m going to parlay three favorites together. I already explained why I’m betting Miocic. Donald Cerrone (21-6) is fighting Adriano Martins (25-6). Cerrone will keep this fight standing and he’ll be able to easily out-strike the veteran Martins.
In the main event Benson Henderson (19-3) is back in action after losing to Pettis, as he takes on Josh Thomson (20-5). Henderson is still one of the best lightweights and I’m sure he’s hungry for a title shot, but he needs to get through Thomson first.
Thomson has struggled a bit to stop fighters from taking him down (55%) and that’s where Henderson can win this fight. He has to work takedowns and get Thomson on his back. From there Henderson will be able to punish from top control and win this fight.
