Best Bets for UFC Fight Night 58 – Scott Jack

  • Bet Lyoto Machida vs. C.B. Dollaway O2.5 Rounds +120 (5Dimes)

I expect Machida (21-5) to win in Brazil although he has to be careful in this fight. Dollaway (15-5) has found his groove this year with wins over Carmont and Ferreira. Machida couldn’t beat Weidman last time out, but he only lost by decision after five rounds.

Machida does a good job avoiding TD’s (77%) and he keeps a good distance typically from his opponents, which means he rarely gets rocked. Machida could win this one by stoppage, but I feel the best bet is on the over 2.5 rounds, as Dollaway will hang tough.

  • Bet Patrick Cummins –160 (BetOnline) vs. Antonio Carlos Jr

Carlos Jr (4-0) won his UFC debut by decision, but many expected more out of him. He has incredible jiu-jitsu for his age, but unless he can lock in a submission he won’t beat Cummins (6-1) who has proven himself to be the real deal after posting a 2-1 UFC record.

Everyone expected him to lose to Cormier, but he has bounced back with two wins over Narvaez and Kingsbury. Cummins will look to take this fight to the mat and pound out the Brazilian. This may go the distance, but either way I like the favorite to win easily.

  • Bet Rashid Magomedov –155 (Pinnacle) vs. Elias Silverio

Magomedov (17-1) and Silverio (11-0) are both incredible newcomers to the UFC, but they haven’t got much attention. That should change after this battle. The Russian is 2-0 in the UFC with a win over Damm plus he’s a former M-1 champion with experience.

Silverio is 3-0 in the UFC, but I give the edge in striking to the Russian who appears more polished and technical. Magomedov has 91% TD defense and as long as he can keep this fight standing where he’s comfortable he’ll be able to win this fight in Brazil.

  • Bet Renato Carneiro ITD +250 (Bovada) vs. Tom Niinimaki

Carneiro (8-0-1) is making his UFC debut, but he does have some submission skills. Niinimaki (21-7-1) has been submitted in his last fights and I’ll take a shot on that happening again. Will the Brazilian be able to start his UFC career off with a bang on Saturday?

  • • Bet Machida / Barao / Silva / Means Parlay +136 (Bovada)

Machida should bounce back with a win in the ME. Barao has a fight against Mitch Gagnon, but Barao should crush him in Brazil. I also like Erick Silva vs. Mike Rhodes and Tim Means vs. Marcio Alexandre Jr. If we get past Means this parlay should definitely hit.
