UFC Fight Night 55 Betting Predictions
- Bet Luke Rockhold vs. Michael Bisping Goes to Decision +130 (5Dimes)
Luke Rockhold (12-2) is 2-1 in the UFC and all three of his fights have ended by stoppage. He submitted Boetsch and knocked out Philippou in his last two fights. Michael Bisping (25-6) has alternated wins and losses since 2012 and he just beat Le.
I like Rockhold to win a decision, but Bisping could easily pull off the upset. Bisping has never been submitted and even in his recent losses 2 of the 3 have been by decision. Rockhold doesn’t have a ton of power and at these odds this is my best bet on the card.
- Bet Ross Pearson –145 (BetOnline) vs. Al Iaquinta
The line on Ross Pearson (16-7-0-1) is up to –220 at some shops already, so I’d bet him now if you like him. Al Iaquinta (9-3-1) is 4-2 in the UFC and has been impressive for the most part. This is his chance to get a win over a fighter with some name recognition.
Both fighters match-up closely on paper. Both are active strikers that are accurate and have reasonably good defense. I just feel like Pearson has the technical ability and experience edge. Pearson is also 3-1-0-1 since he returned to the LW division.
- Bet Soa Palelei –152 (BetLion) vs. Walt Harris
I think that everything is lining up well for Soa Palelei (21-4) to pick up a win in his home country. Palelei lost to Rosholt by decision after putting forth a poor effort, but prior to that he was 3-0 in the UFC and he had won all of those fights by TKO/KO.
Walt Harris (7-3) is 0-2 in the UFC, which includes a loss to Rosholt and Krylov. Harris was brutal in both of those fights. Palelei has a KO win over Krylov and I expect the aging fighter to give it everything he has in Australia. At these odds I’ll take a shot on him.
- Bet Robert Whitaker +162 (SportsInteraction) vs. Clint Hester
Robert Whitaker (12-4) will never be a contender, but the Aussie fighter is no slouch either. Whitaker is 3-2 in the UFC and he just snapped a 2-fight losing streak by beating Rhodes. Clint Hester (11-3) is 4-0 in the UFC, but who has the American beat?
Hester has beaten a bunch of nobodies and his last two fights have gone the distance. Whitaker is tough to takedown and he’s an active striker with some power. Hester has a 4’’ reach advantage, but I like the Aussie to upset the American in Sydney.
- Bet Rockhold vs. Bisping Goes Distance / Pearson / Palelei Parlay +531 (5Dimes)
Rather than try to bet on a number of big favorites I’m sticking with my picks on my parlay. I really like these picks and at +531 I like this parlay a lot. I’ll be betting a full unit on the parlay. I may even do another for a ½ unit and add Whitaker to the equation.
