There’s a reason why this fight has been coined the “Fight of the Century”.
It has been a long time in the making, but the lead-up is finally over and we’re just a couple days until the fight. No one can seem to agree on how this fight will transpire, but I’m in the Money camp, as the local edge will be too much for Pacquiao to overcome.
Mayweather vs. Pacquiao Fight Odds
- Over 11.5 Rounds –300 vs. Under 11.5 Rounds +250
Mayweather was a bigger favorite in the lead-up to the fight, but Pacquiao has been receiving more action lately and the odds have settled where we’re at now. As you can tell – the bookmakers expect the fight to go the distance – with the O11.5 heavily juiced.

Mayweather vs. Pacquiao Predictions – Scott Jack
- Bet on Floyd Mayweather by Decision –130
The chances of Mayweather winning by KO are slim, as he hasn’t knocked anyone out since Victor Ortiz in 2011. Mayweather is now 38 years old and his power isn’t what it was once. However, Money has never really been known as a power puncher.
Mayweather has excellent endurance and some of the best defense in boxing. He lures his opponents into making bad decisions and he’s an expert at gaining any type of technical advantage he can while inside of the ring, which is something you can’t teach.
Pacquiao lost twice in 2012 against Timothy Bradley and Juan Marquez. However, he has bounced with three UD wins against the likes of Brandon Rios, Timothy Bradley and Chris Algieri since those losses and he appears to be in great shape right now.
In recent fights we’ve seen Pacquiao look improved on defense, which will be important in this fight. He has a tendency to open up himself for punishment by throwing too many haymakers and he can’t afford to do that against Mayweather or he’ll get crushed.
Mayweather has been taking more damage in recent fights and his punching output has been lower. However, he’s very accurate – landing over 50% of his punches in recent fights and he’ll end up earning a decision win in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand.
You can get slightly better odds on Mayweather winning by unanimous decision, but it’s not worth it. Two his last three wins have come by majority decision, so stick with Mayweather by decision at –130 odds in this fight.
Contributor picks:
Kamikaze Scottie: I would say Mayweather by decision. Manny will be slowed by adding the extra weight.
Will Sykes: Mayweather UD for me, too fast, cant hit the man, if I see Majority decision prop on Dimes ill take that.
Mike Waz: What do you mean there is no kicking?
