UFC on FX1 Melvin Guillard vs Jim Miller Betting Odds

January 20th, 2012 the UFC returns to Friday nights for its first instalment of UFC on FX. The show will be headlined by Lightweight title contenders Melvin Guillard and Jim Miller squaring off. Both fighters had significant winning streaks snapped in their last Octagon appearances, but the winner of this matchup will re-establish them self at the top of the incredibly competitive UFC Lightweight division.

Melvin Guillard will be making his first appearance after leaving Greg Jackson’s camp and joining the Blackzillions. Melvin’s original move to Jackson’s camp began a resurgence in his career, and it will be interesting to see how he prepares both mentally and physically for Jim Miller.

The New Jersey native was on the cusp of a shot at the 155lbs title belt until he was derailed by now top contender and former WEC Champ Ben Henderson. Both Miller and Guillard bring a wealth of experience to the cage and with so much on the line fans can only expect these two competitors to bring their A-games.

This matchup is an early favourite for Fight of the Night and will certainly be a fan favourite.

Rounding out the main card, Mike Easton welcomes Jared Papazain to the UFC Bantamweight division. Easton picked up an impressive victory in his own promotional debut, but Papazain is never one to shy away from a fight and will go toe to toe with the Hulk looking to his own UFC career off to a good start.

Kicking off the main card, Heavyweight striker Pat Barry crosses paths with Christian Morecraft. Despite recent setbacks both men always bring their best effort to the cage and there is no reason not to expect the same here. Will it be the elite level striking skills of Barry that carries the day or Morecraft’s crushing ground control and submission skills? We will have to wait until Friday to find out.
