UFC Fight Night 73 Best Bets – Scott Jack

• Bet on Ovince St. Preux +100 (5 Dimes) vs. Glover Teixeira

Ovince St. Preux (18-6) has won two in a row by KO (Rua & Cummins). His last win over Cummins was impressive, as Cummins is a tough customer. St. Preux has a 4” reach edge and is much more accurate with his strikes.

I don’t know what we’ll see out of Glover Teixeira (22-4). He lost two fights in 2014 and he hasn’t won since he KO’ed Bader in 2013. Both fighters are capable of landing TD’s, but I side with OSP in what will be a close main event.

• Bet on Beneil Dariush by Sub +320 (Unibet) vs. Michael Johnson

I’m betting on Beneil Dariush (11-1) to beat Michael Johnson (16-8) by submission, but I’ll also have some on Dariush ML, as he’s an underdog to begin with. However, I believe Dariush will need to tap out Johnson to win.

Johnson will look for TD’s in this fight, but that could end up costly, as Dariush will be looking to submit the wrestler in this fight. Johnson has been tapped out six times. Dariush will move up in the division considerably with a win here.

• Bet on Tom Watson +133 (Unibet) vs. Chris Camozzi

I’m a bit surprised we’re getting Tom Watson (17-8) at plus money against Chris Camozzi (21-10). Watson is just 2-3 in the UFC since 2013, but Camozzi has lost five UFC fights in a row dating back to 2013.

Both fighters are struggling and need a win. Watson is the best bet, especially as an underdog. Watson has better striking and neither fighter has a ground game. Watson eats too many shots, but if he can avoid that here, he’ll pick up a win.

• Rosholt vs. Johnson U1.5 Rounds +165 (Bet365)

Jared Rosholt (12-2) has quite a few decision wins, but this fight has the makings of a 1st round finish for one of these two heavyweights. Timothy Johnson has won his last three fights in the opening round, including his UFC debut.

Johnson not only has power, but the big man can win by submission as well. He has never had a fight enter the 3rd round yet in his career and seven of his fights have ended in the first round. At plus money – I’ll take a shot here.

• Brunson / Borg / Hall / McMann / Ortiz Parlay +219 (5 Dimes)

There five big favorites at UFC Fight Night 73 should have no problem winning. McMann is the smallest favorite on the parlay and she’s fighting Nunes. McMann lost to Rousey and Tate, but will pick up a win here against the Brazilian.

Brunson, Borg, Hall and Ortiz are all priced at -370 or higher and I don’t see any big upsets happening.
