UFC Fight Night 57 Predictions

UFC Fight Night 57 will be hosted at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas on Saturday night. The fights will be on Fox Sports 1 and this is a free event that you don’t want to miss. This is a pay-per-view quality main card and I’m excited for the action this weekend.

Best Bets for UFC Fight Night 57

• Bet Cub Swanson +189 (Pinnacle) vs. Frankie Edgar

Cub Swanson (21-5) is on a 6-fight win streak against top competition and he has four TKO/KO wins in that span. Frankie Edgar (17-4-1) lost his debut at featherweight to Aldo, but he has since won two consecutive fights against Oliveira and Penn.

That’s not the toughest competition and I’m going with Swanson who has been dominating fighters the last couple years. Swanson is an extremely effective striker with lots of power. Edgar has a wrestling edge, but I like Swanson to out strike Edgar and win.

• Bet Bobby Green +109 (Pinnacle) vs. Edson Barboza

This is another excellent fight between two fighters in their prime. Bobby Green (23-5) has won eight in a row including four in the UFC and four in Strikeforce. He’s a power striker, but he also has strong wrestling and defense, which makes him very complete.

Edson Barboza (14-2) beat Dunham by TKO in his last fight, but he lost to Cerrone by submission prior to that. Cerrone was streaking at the time just like Green is now. Green will frustrate Barboza with his stand-up defense and win a close one by decision.

• Bet Brad Pickett –205 (Bovada) vs. Chico Camus

Brad Pickett (24-9) has been struggling as of late and alternating wins and losses, which isn’t a good sign. Pickett is now 36 years old and his career may be winding down. However, this is a perfect match-up for him against the less experienced Chico Camus (14-9).

Camus is 3-2 in the UFC, but he doesn’t have any big wins yet and he just lost to Holdsworth. Pickett is stronger, a better striker and better at landing takedowns. The problem for Pickett is he has poor defense, but that shouldn’t matter against Camus.

• Bet Ruslan Magomedov by Decision +219 (5Dimes) vs. Josh Copeland

I like the line on this one and will take a shot even though I have limited knowledge on these two fighters. Josh Copeland (9-0) will be making his UFC debut, but he has good submissions for a HW. Ruslan Magomedov (12-1) won his debut over Pesta by decision.

The Russian is on a 7-fight win streak and six of those wins have been by decision. Magomedov isn’t much of a finisher, but he seems to win consistently thanks to great defense and decent striking. He won’t look for TD’s, but he’ll pick apart Copeland with striking.

• Bet Pickett / Rosholt / Benavidez / Magomedov / Barnett Parlay +437 (Bovada)

A lot of big favorites are on the UFC Fight Night 57 card and I’m betting on the five above on a parlay. I have a number of other big parlays this weekend, but this is my best. I really don’t expect any of these to lose and I’ll be betting 3 units on this parlay.
