UFC 192 – UFC Light Heavyweight Title Betting Predictions
UFC 192 Best Bets – Scott Jack
- Gustafsson vs. Cormier Ends ITD -125 (5Dimes)
I love this bet. We’re getting -125 odds on this fight not going to decision. Alexander Gustafsson (16-3) was just decked in Sweden by Anthony Johnson – losing by TKO in R1. Daniel Cormier (16-1) is fresh off beating Johnson.
Cormier won by submission in R3. Gustafsson is much bigger and is a threat to KO Cormier, but I expect Cormier to try and take this fight to the ground to submit the big Swede. Either way – this fight isn’t lasting five rounds.
- Bader ML +153 (SportBet) vs. Evans
This fight is tough to predict, but I can’t pass up the value on Ryan Bader (19-4). Bader has won four fights in a row, including his last two against St. Preux and Davis. Rashad Evans (19-3-1) hasn’t fought since 2013.
Who knows how Evans will look coming back from a lengthy injury. Prior to getting injured, Evans wasn’t really at his best anyways. Evans only has 66% TDD, so Bader will be able to take him down and win this fight.
- Woodley ML +299 (SportBet) vs. Hendricks
Tyron Woodley (15-3) is in great form right now – winning 4 of his last 5 fights. His only loss is against MacDonald by decision. Johny Hendricks (17-3) is 2-2 in his last 4, but both of his wins have come by decision.
His last fight was against Matt Brown and all he got was a decision. Woodley has 91% TDD, so Hendricks is going to have trouble landing takedowns and his striking isn’t great. Woodley offers great value at these odds.
- Magomedov ML -155 (BetDSI) vs. Jordan
Ruslan Magomedov (13-1) hasn’t lost a fight since 2011 and he’s 2-0 since joining the UFC. Shawn Jordan (18-6) is no slouch. He has won three fights in a row, but they haven’t been against tough competition.
Jordan likes to look for TD’s, but the Russian has 88% TDD. I believe the winner of this fight will be the one who wins the striking. Magomedov lands more shots and he absorbs a lot less than Jordan in the stand-up.
- Cormier + Pena + Benavidez Parlay +155 (Unibet)
I expect Cormier to retain the title by beating Gustafsson and we’ll get a Cormier vs. Jones rematch.
Julianna Pena (6-2) has won both of her UFC fights, but she’ll be in tough against Jessica Eye (11-3). Pena is still developing as a fighter, but she has won both of her UFC fights by TKO/KO. I’ll keep betting her until she loses.
Joseph Benavidez (22-4) is on a 3-fight win streak against tough competition. Ali Bagautinov (13-3) was 3-0 in the UFC before losing Mighty Mouse last time out. Bagautinov is a tough out, but I’m riding with the veteran.
