UFC 187 Johnson vs Cromier – Belfort vs Weidman Betting Predictions
UFC 187 Best Bets – Scott Jack
- Bet Anthony Johnson +118 (5Dimes) vs. Daniel Cormier
Daniel Cormier (15-1) lost to Jones last time out, will he lose two fights in a row? Anthony Johnson (19-4) has won nine fights in a row dating back to 2012 and six of those wins have been by TKO/KO, including his last two wins over Minotoro and Gustafsson.
On paper these two fights are very similar. Johnson averages 3.33 SLpM, 1.65 SApM and 2.53 TD’s (Per 15m). Cormier averages 3.78 SLpM, 1.70 SApM and 1.91 TD’s (Per 15m). Johnson has a 6” reach advantage and better wrestling, so I’ll be on him.
- Bet Joseph Benavidez by Decision -125 (Bet365) vs. John Moraga
Benavidez (21-4) is a -700 ML favorite, but just -125 to win by decision, which I believe is the most likely outcome. Moraga (16-3) was KO’ed by Dodson last year and submitted by Johnson the year prior, but the Johnson fight went into the 5th round.
Moraga is definitely improved and I believe he’ll last three rounds. Benavidez is 5-1 since 2013 with a KO loss to Johnson and three stoppage wins. Moraga has improved on the ground as of late and he’ll do everything in his power not to get tapped out.
- Bet Travis Browne by TKO/KO -165 (Unibet) vs. Andrei Arlovski
I feel this one is easy, but that’s never the case in the UFC. Browne (17-2-1) is a finisher. Since 2012 – Browne is 5-2 and all of his wins have been stoppage, including four TKO/KO wins. Arlovski (23-10-0-1) has been KO’ed seven times in his career.
Arlovski hasn’t been knocked out since 2011, but he’s still known as having a glass chin. Browne is a certified KO specialist and he’ll have little problem ending this fight. Arlovski has no ground game either. Browne will push forward and his power will be too much.
- Bet Donald Cerrone ITD +126 (5Dimes) vs. John Makdessi
Cerrone (27-6-0-1) has won seven fights in a row, but his last three wins have been by decision. Makdessi (13-3) is 6-3 in the UFC, but he has never fought anyone like Cerrone, plus he’s taking this fight on short notice, which is never a good idea.
Makdessi has no wrestling game at all. He averages 4.79 SLpM, but his level of competition hasn’t been high. I believe Cerrone will take this fight to the ground and tap out Makdessi in quick fashion. I wish Nurmagomedov could fight, but I’ll bet Cerrone now.
There’s a lot of big favorites that should win at UFC 187, which is great for parlay bettors.
Chris Weidman, Cerrone, Browne, Benavidez and John Dodson are all big favorites I believe will win. Parlaying those five together pays +156 at Pinnacle. You can also add Justin Scoogins and Uriah Hall to the parlay, which bumps the payout to +320.
