UFC 175 Predictions

It’s a big weekend in the USA, as they’re celebrating Independence Day on July 4th (Friday). In celebration of the big weekend the UFC is hosting a huge pay-per-view event that’ll feature two title fights plus numerous other fights that’ll excite fans.

Best Bets for UFC 175

  • Bet Chris Weidman –172 (SportBet) vs. Lyoto Machida

Chris Weidman (11-0) has already gone 7-0 in the UFC since joining the promotion in 2011. Weidman defeated Anderson Silva 2X in a row last year by 2nd round TKO/KO. Lyoto Machida (21-4) has beat Munoz (KO) and Mousasi (Decision) since moving to MW.

Machida is elusive and a tough fighter to bet against, but Weidman looks like the real deal and I expect him to maintain a hold of the middleweight belt for the foreseeable future. Weidman will have success with takedowns and earn a late G&P win in round 4 or 5.

  • Bet Ronda Rousey vs. Alexis Davis Over 1.5 Rounds +111 (Pinnacle)

This fight is tough to bet on. Rousey will win, but her odds are insane. I went back and forth on this fight, but I really expect Davis to have the skill set to survive a couple rounds with the champion. Davis is a black belt in BJJ and JJJ, so her grappling is impressive.

Davis has a good submission game and she should be able to keep herself out of trouble early on. She has worked on her wrestling leading up to the fight as well. Rousey will win by submission, but I don’t think Davis will tap out until the 3rd or 4th round of the fight.

  • Bet Russell Doane –107 (SportBet) vs. Marcus Brimage

Russell Doane (13-3) vs. Marcus Brimage (6-2) is as close to a coin flip as you’re going to get. Brimage was KO’ed by McGregor in his last fight while Doane won his UFC debut by submission over Issa. Doane also dominated the striking in his debut against Issa.

This fight will be fought standing up and I feel that gives the edge to Doane. He has more power (6 TKO/KO Wins), he has stronger stand-up defense and he’s a much more accurate striker. Doane lands 4.31 SLpM while Brimage absorbs 4.32 SLpM.

  • Bet Weidman / Rousey ITD / Faber / Camozzi / Roop Parlay +348 (5 Dimes)

I’ve already explained why I’m on Weidman and Rousey. I took Rousey ITD because the odds are much better and I can’t see Davis being able to last the entire fight. I’m also betting on Urijah Faber (30-7) to beat Alex Caceres (10-5-0-1) on the prelims.

The two other fights on the parlay are Chris Camozzi (19-7) vs. Bruno Santos (13-1) and George Roop (15-10-1) vs. Rob Font (10-1). Camozzi has lost two in a row and needs a win while Roop should have an easy time against Font who is making his UFC debut.

I don’t see any odds up yet, but I’m also going to bet on Faber to win by submission. Caceres has been submitted four times and he has been taken down 21 times in nine UFC fights. Faber should have a field day in the cage with Caceres and easily win.
