UFC 155 Betting Odds, Preview and Predictions

With the holidays we’re getting our UFC 155 picks up a bit late this week. Hopefully everyone had a great Christmas, but it’s now time to get back to work and make some money. Check out my predictions for UFC 155 in Las Vegas this Saturday and bring in the New Year with some extra money. This is a can’t miss fight card, so make sure you’re at a local bar or order the PPV.

UFC 155 Main Card Fight Odds & Picks

  • Junior Dos Santos -182 (Pinnacle) vs. Cain Velasquez +170 (5Dimes)

The fight everyone can’t wait to watch is the UFC Heavyweight Championship. Junior Dos Santos (15-1) will have to try and retain his title against the tough Cain Velasquez (10-1). Dos Santos won the 1st meeting between these two at UFC on Fox 1 by KO after just a minute into the 1st round. Velasquez needs his takedowns to be executed perfectly to stand a chance against Dos Santos.

Velasquez averages 6.61 takedowns per 15 minutes, but Dos Santos stops 88% of his opponents’ takedowns. Both fighters have great striking, but Dos Santos definitely has the edge. These two have the same reach, but Dos Santos has a height advantage in this fight. I just don’t think Velasquez will be able to execute his takedowns, so I’m going with the favoured Dos Santos to win.

  • Jim Miller -200 (Bovada) vs. Joe Lauzon +190 (Pinnacle)

Jim Miller (21-4) should win on Saturday. He has an edge in the stand-up and can hold his own on the ground. Joe Lauzon (22-7) has 18 submission victories and is always a threat on the ground. His L5 wins have been by sub, but Miller will know this coming into the fight. Miller needs to work his striking to beat Lauzon just like several other fighters have including Pettis and Florian.

  • Constantinos Philippou +100 (Bovada) vs. Tim Boetsch +100 (BetDSI)

Constantinos Philippou (11-2) is 4-1 in the UFC and has won his L4 fights. He looks better each fight and I’m excited to watch him against Tim Boetsch (16-4) who is a UFC veteran. Boetsch is 5-1 in his 2nd stint with the UFC. Both fighters have power and can KO most fighters in their division, but they also go to decision a lot. I like Philippou to win, but the better bet is O2.5 rounds.

  • Yushin Okami +100 (Bodog) vs. Alan Belcher +101 (Pinnacle)

Yushin Okami (27-7) needed a win in his last fight and he got it by TKO in the 2nd round against Buddy Roberts, but now he has to fight a much tougher Alan Belcher (18-6) who is fresh off knocking out Palhares. Belcher is on a 4-fight win streak with two of his wins by TKO/KO and two by submission. Belcher needs to keep this fight standing and reach to keep Okami on the defensive.

  • Chris Leben -140 (BetDSI) vs. Derek Brunson +133 (Pinnacle)

Chris Leben (22-8) is just 1-2 in his L3 fights and needs to win this weekend. Derek Brunson (9-2) is making his UFC debut despite being on a 2-fight losing streak right now with losses against Grove and Souza. Brunson is well-rounded, but as long as Leben is on his game he’ll win. Leben has accuracy issues due to his rapid fighting style, but this fight shouldn’t pose a huge test for him.
