UFC 147 Franklin vs Silva II Betting Odds

Most UFC fans aren’t impressed with the UFC 147 fight card and many fans don’t feel like the PPV card is worth the money, but we’re not going to get into that debate here. UFC 147 is in Brazil and will feature two TUF: Brazil Finale fights as well as a main event fight between Rich Franklin vs. Wanderlei Silva. UFC 147 Preview & Video Predictions

  • Rich Franklin -170 vs. Wanderlei Silva +150

The main event was supposed to be between Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen, but that’s on at UFC 148 now. After that the fight was supposed to be between Wanderlei and Vitor Belfort, but Belfort had to drop out with a late injury. Franklin comes into this fight on short notice and fresh off an injury, so it’s hard to tell how he’ll come out in his 1st fight back. Wanderlei has been pretty bad the past few years and he’s prone to getting knocked out. I’m backing Franklin to win although at -170 this bet is iffy.

  • Fabricio Werdum -500 vs. Mike Russow +400

I like both of these fighters a lot and I think Mike Russow is talented in the cage, but it’s hard to bet against Werdum if you were able to watch him dismantle Roy Nelson in his last fight. Werdum is a huge -500 favourite, but he should be around that due to the fact he’s simply much better than Russow. Russow beats fighters with his wrestling, but against Werdum that isn’t going to help him win the fight because Werdum should be able to prevent Russow from taking him down and controlling the fight.

  • Yuri Alcantara -280 vs. Hacran Dias +220

Hacran Dias is my favourite pick on the main card at UFC 147 because of the +220 payout odds. Dias is a great fighter that’ll be able to control this fight against Alcantara. Dias needs this fight to be fought on the ground in order to win, but if he can fight this fight on the mat he should be able to win by decision or stoppage even. One thing I’m worried about is the fact that Dias will be making his UFC debut while Alcantara already has 2-0 record in the UFC, but at +220 I’m taking a shot on the underdog.

  • Cezar Ferreira -260 vs. Sergio Moraes +200

Cezar Ferreira and Sergio Moraes will be fighting in the TUF: Brazil middleweight tournament finale. Moraes was lucky to receive a second shot at claiming the show’s title, as he was knocked out in the semis, but replaced an injured Daniel Sarafian. Ferreira has been great on TUF: Brazil and he has won all three of his fights by stoppage (2 subs & 1 KO). If Ferreira fights like he has been on the show he should win the middleweight finale at UFC 147 this weekend.

  • Rony Mariano Bezerra -280 vs. Godofredo Castro +220

The UFC 147 main card will also feature a TUF: Brazil featherweight finale fight. Bezerra is favoured to win the fight and I like him to win as a big favourite on Saturday. Bezerra has way more experience and some of his fights have been against quality fighters, which lead me to believe he’s more ready for the big stage than Castro. With these types of fights you really never know what might happen though and I don’t advise backing Bezerra at -280 odds because there are better bets on the card.
