Bellator 120 Predictions

This will be the first time that Bellator has had a pay-per-view event. I’ve seen countless posts hoping that the card isn’t a success, but I hope it is, as a little competition never hurts. The event will be coming to us live from the Landers Center in Mississippi.

Bellator 120 Best Bets

  • Bet Quinton Jackson by TKO/KO +220 (5Dimes) vs. Muhammed Lawal

Quinton Jackson (34-11) has won both of fights with Bellator by TKO/KO over Beltran and M’Pumbu. He seems excited to be fighting again and that spells bad news for Muhammed Lawal (12-3-0-1). Lawal has done well with Bellator, but he isn’t on Rampage’s level.

Both fighters like to throw haymakers and between the two of them they’ve combined for 25 TKO/KO wins. Both of these guys have been knocked out before, but Rampage hasn’t since his Pride days. This will be a short-lived war and I’m on Jackson by TKO/KO.

  • Bet Alexander Shlemenko vs. Tito Ortiz Over 1.5 Rounds –150 (BetDSI)

Can you believe that Tito Ortiz (16-11-1) has gone 1-6 since 2008? His lone win was a submission over Bader in 2011. He hasn’t been in the cage since losing to Griffin in 2012. He’ll be fighting Alexander Shlemenko (50-7) who is still one of the best middleweights.

I think Shlemenko will dominate, but the only odds out on this fight are the ML and O/U. The Russian is a huge favorite (-450), but I do think Ortiz will last over 1.5 rounds. He has a considerable size advantage and I’m banking on him surviving the early onslaught.

  • Bet Blagoi Ivanov +113 (Pinnacle) vs. Alexander Volkov

I can’t wait to watch Blagoi Ivanov (11-0-0-1) and Alexander Volkov (21-4) square off in the cage. Ivanov has a well-rounded game, but he has to utilize his grappling to be successful in this fight. If he works takedowns and submissions he’ll win this fight.

Volkov is much more one-dimensional, but he’s also the better striker. The Russian has 16 TKO/KO wins, but his ground game is nowhere near the Bulgarians. If Ivanov tries to out strike Volkov he’ll find trouble I think, but he has the tools to win this fight.

  • Bet Jackson / Shlemenko / Page / Kongo / Shamhalaev Parlay +236 (SportBet)

If you bet on Bellator you’ll likely know that favorites often dominate. I think that’ll be the case on this PPV fight card as well and I’m betting the above five favorites on my main parlay. Page, Kongo and Shamhalaev should all win their respective fights fairly easily.

I plan on betting on all three to win by stoppage if odds are released for that market before the fights. Page is 5-0 as a professional and all of his wins have been in the 1st round. Kongo is a grizzled veteran and he’s fighting a relatively unknown fighter.

Shamhalaev is the toughest pick on the parlay. He should get back into the win column after losing his last fight, but he has to make sure he isn’t submitted again, as Costa Da Silva is a submission specialist. You’ll notice I avoided Chandler, as his odds are too short.
